Hello. I am a recent transplant to DW from a not so alive journal and I am looking for a few friends to read along with.

So a bit about me:

I am a married guy in his mid 30s
I have a son on the autism spectrum
I was born in the midwest and live in Seattle
I manage a graphic design department for a group of tv and radio stations
I am a bit crazy
I am very passionate
I have met several dozen awesome folks off of my other journal and we are real life friends
I once drank a French train out of Vodka
I love chocolate and cupcakes and ice cream
I am pretty sarcastic
I like to have fun and laugh at a lot of things
Many people tell me I am very raw, real, and honest
My journal can be pretty heavy with raw emotions
Sometimes my journal is happy, sad, political, ranting, kinky, or just about life

That's awesome that you work with graphic design! What exactly do you do? :)

my department is responsible for designing all the marketing and advertising for the stations. so everything from logos, to print projects like brochures and flyers and posters and tshirts, to full vehicle wraps to banners and signs, to websites and web ad units, to tv commercials and other motion graphics. so all in all, a little bit of everything and a whole lot of insanity most days.

That's pretty cool. I was just curious b/c I"m a graphic/web designer myself and my previous job was a sales asst. at a tv station. :P

neato. my job is okay, i have had way less fun things (morning shift at 3am making 50 graphics for the newscast starting at 5am) or doing production on catalogs or grade school classroom handouts for students or 200+ powerpoint slide presentations.

but tv can be a really "interesting" place. i do hope you had the chance to make some really boring one sheets on nielsen ratings for your market. :)
