Hello future friends! I'm going to follow the standard format or else things may get messy. XD
NAME: Julia
AGE: Just turned 28!
INTERESTS: I am so into fandoms, it's not even funny. Current obsessions are Haven, Warehouse 13, Alphas, Suits, and Leverage. Other shows I squee over are Psych, Community, Torchwood, Doctor Who, Stargate Atlantis, Jossverse stuff, Life on Mars/Ashes to Ashes, Lost, Supernatural, and Battlestar Galactica. I love Robert Downey Jr. an unhealthy amount. In non-fandom related things, I have a background in psychology/criminal justice and still find those topics fascinating.
HOBBIES: I'm quite active outdoors - I just got a new bike and I'm learning how to do whitewater kayaking. I love, love, love reading and I dabble with photography. I adore cats and hope to get a dog someday. I'm trying to eat healthy, which is difficult after years of eating like crap.
LOOKING FOR: I'm looking to meet more awesome people. I've met some wonderful people on Livejournal and probably won't stop being active over there (I haven't been able to find that much fandom stuff on DW yet), but I plan on crossposting everything and being active here on DW as well. My friend's list has gotten fairly overwhelming on LJ and I hate cutting people, so it'd be nice to make some great friends here and keep things nice and cozy.
ANYTHING ELSE?: I'm really nice! Most of the time. :) Sometimes my posts can get fairly depressing, but I try to make up for that with pretty, pretty picspams. That's probably one of the reasons I'm attracted to tumblr because, OOOH SHINY, but still.

Based on some of what you've written here, we have a few things in common (Doctor Who and Torchwood a bonus).
I am also quite an active individual as I am on a quest to lose about 70-100 pounds. Exercise makes up a big part of my days and of course, I am learning to eat healthy. It's a good thing that I can cook!
I am also a full time student (late in life type) pursuing two degrees with two minors attached (History/anthropology - women and gender studies/international and global studies). My primary concentration is East Asia. I am currently on break, but I can't wait until I get back into classes in September. I'm am sure I will be still as busy, if not more so, then.
I also adore cats - I have four of them. ^^
My posting is sporadic, but I do read everyday and comment when I think I have something to add.
I have sort of an open door policy with my journal. I figure that if you feel we'd get along, stay on and read me. If you think we just don't click, feel free to drop me with no hard feelings at any time.
