Hello! I thought I'd make a post here since I'm looking for some Dreamwidth friends. :) I go by Kura on the net. I'm 22, American Chinese, and pretty friendly (or so I'd think).

I joined Dreamwidth a while back but only moved here permanently late last year. I'm definitely here to stay, since uh, I paid money for my account (that's a commitment, I think!) I'm looking for friends that are also here to stay - if you're just here to try out Dreamwidth, I'll be really sad if your journal ends up dead in a few weeks. I'm also much more uh, real-life oriented I guess? I'm all for people posting about what fandoms are in, but I would much rather read about your day? What I'm trying to say is I'd like to get to know friends beyond just their current fandoms. My journal is personal and I talk about school, friends, and family quite a bit so if you're not at all interested, I am probably not for you!

As far as my interests go, I like old pre-2005 anime mostly because I'm a little too busy to get into recent series, I like a large variety of video games though I only play some, and I'm a bit of a supercar fan. I'm the easily-amused type, and I find most jokes funny, even the really terrible ones. Maybe that will give you an idea of the type of person I am...

Uh, oh, and I'm an art university student studying visual development for entertainment with grand plans to be employed by some animation or video game studio sometime in the future. I have an artblog over at

kaiba where I usually post my artwork, though I do sometimes post work-in-progresses on my personal journal (that's this one).

So yeah! If you're on Dreamwidth to stay, not completely fandom-centric, and well, friendly, I'd love to be friends! Leave me a comment here and we can get introductions out of the way? If I didn't come off in this post as a total moron, that is.

Hi Kura, I'm Stephanie. I'm surprised by the addme entries lately asking for people who are here to stay, but I most definitely am. I love Dreamwidth in a way I never did with LJ. I also like older anime, and have been re-watching some of my childhood favorites lately. I'm 22 and just graduated from college, and I tend to write about daily life stuff. (My goal is to post daily, but lately I have no idea where my time is going... I don't know how to write "fandom" posts though so there are definitely few of those. xD;) I'd love to add you. =)

I think it's because when people move over from LJ, there are a lot of friends who ask for invite codes, make journals, and then never post or leave right after posting once or twice :( It makes me really sad. DW is really great though, I love it so much here that I kind of got myself a seed account. So yeah, I'm definitely here to stay. XD

xD I love people who love it so much they got a seed account. I don't have the money for it yet, but hey, I at least have a paid account - and that's more than I can say for a lot of things. (I don't pay for things very easily...)

I haven't seen a lot of people move over here from LJ in a while, I guess. But most of the people I had on my LJ years ago are inactive now and I'm just finding new people from DW. It's hard on people who do have a lot of friends on LJ, I've heard, so I guess I'm in the minority in that I just moved over and started a clean slate?

I was on LJ for a really long time and I have a pretty extensive friends list there so it's difficult to cut all ties. I'd find it easier if my closest friends moved over to DW, but a lot of them are pretty well situated over there and don't want to move, so I still check back for them. ;;

I absolutely ADORE my Seed account. ;; I probably shouldn't have spent the money, but these opportunities don't come often and I really like Dreamwidth. ;;

Anyway, hi! I don't feel too comfortable letting my name float out in public spaces, so I go by my initial K. I talk a lot about real-life stuff, mostly uni (studying to be a translator, woo!!). I have a soft spot for 90s anime, for some reason... And I have a horrible sense of humor, so if you crack a super lame joke, odds are I'll laugh at it. I'd love to add you, if that's all right! I'm definitely here for the long haul, and I'd love to make new friends~

Hello, K! Real life-stuff and uni stuff is totally cool! Being a translator sounds awesome - what language? (I don't just want to assume Japanese if it's something else haha.) THAT IS JUST LIKE ME though I like to just think that I LOVE LIFE rather than that I have a horrible sense of humor. XD

FFX is one of my favorites too! And Dratini is one of my favorite pokemon *3* <33333 Let's be good friends!

I'm focusing on Spanish right now, but I'm also studying French! I love romance languages, so I've been having a lot of fun with it. But I think that your approach to humor is healthier than mine haha. Most of the time, I see something and I'm like "HAHAHAHAHA THIS ISN'T THAT GREAT, WHY DO I FIND IT FUNNY?? DD:" ~~People hate playing apples to apples with me for that reason~~

I've played FFX far too many times for my own good, and I've been itching to play through it again (despite the fact I have a pile of other games to beat nnnnnnyugh). And I love the Dratini evolutionary line. They're freaking adorable :33
