Still don't know what love means.
A quick breakdown about myself before I write up some little blurbs:
- Female.
- 21.
- Massachusetts.
- College sophomore.
- English major.
- Harry Potter.
- Music.
- Reading.
- Writing.
- The beach.
- Tumblr.
Random: All I want for my life is to live on the beach, be with the people I love, have cold drinks, great literature, and perfect music. I love where I'm from but I really want to travel. This is my second try around with college and it's going so much better this time. I think I want to be an English teacher, but I'm honestly not sure. Other than my deep love for English/literature I have an interest in certain periods of history, psychology, and philosophy. I love to drive with the windows down and sing at the top of my lungs. I love tattoos but I don't have any. Against all my fighting efforts, I'm a pretty average young girl but I have my own tinges of identity.
Music: Music is one of three forms of art (the other two being books and writing) that have essentially molded into one and changed my entire life. I'll just list what I've been listening to the most of in the last couple weeks. The Dangerous Summer, City and Colour, Ellie Goulding, Friendly Fires, Darwin Deez, Alkaline Trio, Biffy Clyro, Brand New, Wild Beasts, and Kesha. I could honestly go on forever and ever.
Books: Harry Potter, hands down number one. I like to read a lot of teen fiction by authors such as Libba Bray, Sarah Dessen, Anne Brashares, Megan McCafferty and John Green. I just spent a week in FL and needed a good beach book, and as much as I know a lot of people will judge me, Snooki's A Shore Thing was amazingly hilarious and cute. Some favorite pieces of adult fiction are Snow Flower and the Secret Fan by Lisa See, Prep by Curtis Sittenfeld, College Girl by Patricia Weitz, and I'm currently reading One Day by David Nicholls which is wonderfully heart wrenching. I love classics and recently discovered the wonders of Russian literature in my last English course. I also really enjoy poetry, although am not too familiar with many different poets.
Movies: My taste in movies just emphasizes my eclectic tastes. I'll keep this one short and list the first few movies I can think of that I really love/like: Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Elizabethtown, The Collector, Sunshine Cleaning, Easy A, Let The Right One In (Original), House of 1000 Corpses, Anchorman, and... the last thing I watched through Netflix, I Love You Philip Morris.
TV: Last and kind of least... I don't watch any TV shows on a regular schedule accept, I'll admit it, Jersey Shore. I know, it may not be good television, but it's amazing entertainment. Other than that I like documentary type shows when I catch them. I watch a lot of re-runs of stuff because I don't keep up. House, Law & Order SVU, Criminal Minds... What else? I love getting nostalgic and watching The O.C. and Gilmore Girls. A few UK shows like Inbetweeners, Misfits, Extras and Nevermind the Buzzcocks. I like entertainment, I just don't MAKE time for TV. I usually just happen to catch something on.
Add me if you like anything you read and think we'd make good friends, of course. I can't promise to be a constant poster, but I'm a pretty good LJ friend. Also, as a bit of a disclaimer... I don't exactly think this is very important but it might as well be said. I enjoy alcoholic beverages, and I consider myself to be an atheist. Like I said, I don't think either thing is a big deal, but if you don't like them and it bothers you please leave the hate/preaching out. If you don't drink or aren't an atheist but don't mind those things in other people, I'm a pretty open person and would love to have you as a friend if you think we have other things in common.
