all of us are poets at heart. ([personal profile] existence101) wrote in [community profile] addme2026-04-22 04:56 am

I would like to have all of the rest of the world disappear and live with you here.

Name: Simone

Age:

Closer to 40 than 30.

I mostly post about:

I've only just started this journal, though I've used Dreamwidth sporadically before. I plan to mainly write about my writing progress, my writing projects, thoughts on writing, authors/poets I'm reading (English) and similar.

My hobbies are:

Poetry, roleplaying, writing, ballet, art, icon making (sporadically and mostly RP-related) and scrapbooking/collage-making.

My fandoms are:

I'm not active in any fandoms rn, though in the past I've been active in the Takarazuka Revue fandom and the Danish ballet fandom. I am, however, running the poetry prompt challenge community, [community profile] 25poemsamonth, if that counts as a fandom.

I'm looking to meet people who:

Like to write, will share their writing with me, their writing progress, ups-downs, writing journal, research, thoughts. Just writing, ok.

My posting schedule tends to be:

Honestly, probably sporadic, but as I'm beginning to work on an English-language verse novel soon, I hope to be a little more active than just once a month.

When I add people, my dealbreakers are:

No gen AI. No queerphobia, transphobia, racism, etc.

Before adding me, you should know:

Can't really think of anything. I live in Denmark, so might post at weird times compared to the many American folks here.

Hiya! We wouldn't be a good fit because while I do some creative writing, I don't talk about it that often. I'm commenting anyway for a few reasons:

One: I think you'd like [personal profile] vriddy whose journal is mostly about writing. I think they mostly write fanfic, but they're always talking about their process. If you check them out, feel free to say that Althea Valara sent you their way.

Two: I keep a list of interesting Dreamwidth communties I've stumbled across, and would love to add your poetry comm to the list. The current list is here, and I'm planning to repost it soon for Three Weeks for Dreamwidth.

Three: here are some communities from that list that I think you might find interesting:
  • [community profile] genprompt_bingo - for the writers! They generate bingo cards of prompts, with all the prompts being gen. You can, of course, write a shippy fic from the prompt; it's just the prompts themselves aren't meant to be shippy. I'm currently working on a bingo for my last card, wish me luck!

  • [community profile] allbingo - They do all sorts of bingos, mostly writing-related but I think they've had some crafting ones as well. There's new challenges monthly!

  • [community profile] 100words is a drabble community for fiction of all kinds. They post weekly challenges there.

  • [community profile] ladiesbingo is a bingo challenge to make works focused on the relationship between women, whether gen, femslash, or familial. I'm currently having great fun trying to fill my bingo board!

  • [community profile] getyourwordsout is a writing challenge community where you can challenge yourself by wordcount or number of days written per month. It's a closed community that opens for registration at the end of the year, but it's GREAT for accountability and there's all sorts of talk about writing there.

  • [community profile] 10trueloves is a writing challenge where you pair a character with ten others (IIRC, they don't have to be romantic pairings, but I'm not sure; check the comm for more info!)

  • [community profile] 1character is a writing challenge where you choose a character and prompt set, then write one line sentences to fill each prompt.

  • [community profile] inspiredby posts writing prompts monthly.

  • [community profile] threesentenceficathon is a fest that happens yearly. People leave prompts, other write short fills of 3 sentences or longer.

  • [community profile] communal_creators is a community for creative types! Its main round happens in the fall, with a mini-round happening in early spring. ANY kind of creativity is welcome! We have people writing (both fic and original), knitting, crochet, vidding, storyboarding, baking, making websites... if it's creative, you're welcome here. (Note: I am friends with the community moderator, so I'm biased about liking this community.

  • [community profile] lyricaltitles is a bingo fest for fanfiction and original fiction centering around using songs for inspiration!

  • [community profile] sweetandshort is a low-pressure community for creating small fanworks / original works each week.

Good luck with your writing, and I hope you find some interesting folks to follow!
