Looking for even more friends!
Age: 32, but I don't act like it.
I mostly post about:My life, work, my fanfiction, general fandom posts, the band Rockapella.
My hobbies are:Writing, learning languages (I speak Russian and a little Icelandic, currently learning Ukrainian and Hebrew), old PC stuff from the '90s and 2000s, roleplaying.
My fandoms are:LazyTown, Where in the World is Carmen Sandiego?, Rockapella (yes, we have a fandom, but it's very, very small)
I'm looking to meet people who: write as well, won't mind my random and sometimes mindless posts, interesting people in general.
My posting schedule tends to be: daily, if not weekly
When I add people, my dealbreakers are:bigotry of any form is a huge dealbreaker, I don't add minors, anti-vaxxers and the like are also a dealbreaker.
Before adding me, you should know: I'm a shy, oddball transgender person who yells about fandoms and sometimes politics a bit too much. I try to be positive on my blog, but I do suffer from chronic pain and illnesses, and sometimes I need to vent. I also never shut up about my fandoms -- did I say that already? I don't know. I'm a scatterbrain as well. If you want to know more that I probably haven't mentioned here, there's a public intro post on my blog for your reading pleasure.

Are you fond of any fandoms besides those three?
I am learning a little bit of Ukrainian too so we might get along OK! ^_^

I've not really dabbled in any other fandoms in years, honestly. I'm always willing to check others out and whatnot though :D
Awesome! :D Ukrainian is a really cool language, I love the sound of it.

Besides China, I visited Ohio a long while ago - I was interested in Oberlin Conservatory.
I heard how Russian and Ukrainian are kind of similar...
no subject
Yep, they're similar languages, sharing the same family.

I didn't want to get drafted into any war effort, so I immediately ceased previous Russian studies - though that was one of my previous university studies. (In undergraduate school I did oboe, bassoon, international relations, poked at the mathematics or physics or whatever you want to call it, then got scared and just tried to collect enough gen eds to graduate! But now they're asking for me back! Ahahah. I guess I could do it, but... hmm... I haven't finished the book yet.)

Same, I somewhat keep up with my Russian studies but I've stopped with all this stuff going on. That's a lot of interesting undergrad stuff! :D

Fortunately they have mostly resolved with a better diet so I have been able to progress! ^_^
Yeah, I KINDA speak Russian, but... it's sort of on the questionable side to say anything, right? I don't want to be accused of heresy.
no subject
Yeah, it seems like it is? I'm not sure tbh, lol.
no subject
Me neither, but there are plenty of ways to communicate.
no subject
Yep, there are!! :D

It's so fortunate ^_^ Gosh, I really don't want to lay down a solid list of ways to say hello to you because sometimes I can't understand proverbs or something like that in x language either [even if x=Russian or Ukrainian].
Years and years ago, I learned a clever little symbol to abbreviate "or" but I can't remember whether it was V or if it were the same symbol but going in the reverse direction, in which case I'd need to be more awake to use the alt codes that I'd have to actually remember. The notebook I used at the time disappeared into the netherworlds which is my closet - I wouldn't go back in there unless I had a machete.
Maybe Google might have it. Hmm, it looks like the karat is the same symbol as what that suggested. (It is U+2303 according to Google!)

That sounds like my closet as well. I should clean it but... i have not.

One of these days!
Far off in the future...

Would you like to befriend me at some point later?
I don't know as much Ukrainian as could be desired, but before my 2008 TBI I was one of the better Russian students - I'm trying to fix this as best I can without offending anyone and everyone on the planet.
Talk about a Herculean task. Hahahahahaha
I put on Duolingo that I wanted to learn Ukrainian, but it's just one of 31 languages I asked Duolingo about so that has been going incredibly well.
no subject
LOL, I totally understand. I'm fumbling my way through languages tbh.
Duolingo is fun, but I get easily distracted, which is not fun.
no subject
"Fumbling through languages" is all we can do to make sense of life.
Me too, especially by little pains or needing to attend to the cats or something minor like that. It's difficult in that regard.
no subject
That's true, lol.
Yep. That can get pretty difficult!

I probably shouldn't complain to you about the incessant Russian exercises that compelled me to totally switch gears and study in the PRC to clear my head for a summer. (2013)
However, the actual rationale for my decision to go was because I had heard about it already from my former significant other and I wanted to verify claims I had no other way to verify.

Other part of my head: It's the second-to-last class of the semester.

Every semester at every institution I make sure to write it in the most BLATANTLY OBNOXIOUS COLOURS I'VE GOT.

If I ever go back to college (probably won't happen but ehhh) I would do the same thing.

It just makes sense! And if I only have one, such as grey, underline!
Hi There!
