I've been on DW for a while now, and I think I'd love to have some new friends. :D

Name: I've decided online that I'm not going to give out my real name, but I do go by Perhin on here. And, yes, Perhin Madoc Gamgins is my fake hobbit name.
Age: I will be 31 in August. I also happen to be a Leo/Virgo, which means I'm a perfectionist with lovely hair.
Orientation: I am straight asexual, which means that I am --in no way-- attracted to anyone for sexual reasons, but, if I had to date someone, it would have to be a guy.

Interests: Reading, writing short stories and a bit of fanfiction (more on that in a minute), artsy stuff (mostly drawing and adult coloring books), history (I'm a big fan of those crazy!Tudors), art (Escher and Degas!), playing music (I also like composing sometimes), nature journaling.

Fanfiction: This is the funny part! My mother and I watch Gunsmoke religiously, in fact, it's on the TV right now! I write fanfiction for us to giggle over. I also write fairytale retellings, quips, musings, my own fairytales, short stories, and I once wrote a King of Queens/ Harry Potter crossover fic. XD

I geekout over: J.R.R. Tolkien, Stevie Nicks/ Fleetwood Mac, David Garrett, my computer, European history, and other random things.

I read: I've just started loving biographies, but I also love a good history book, writing by the Lost Generation (Hemingway, F. Scott Fitzgerald, ect.), some classics, some fantasy (this used to be all I'd read), non-fiction, and odd fiction that no one around me seems to like (Gourmet Rhapsody was awesome!).

Not-So-Serious Gaming: I love the Sims series (Sims 2 was the best), my DS Lite, Avalon Code, Rhapsody: A Musical Adventure, Zelda, I'm also addicted to Bejeweled 3. The Zenses games are a godsend for relaxation and calming down. And, I am on a mission to learn cribbage and two-person Canasta.... I already forgot the rules for backgammon, because no one will play with me. -_-

I'm definitely into fantasy and read science-fiction as well, and I'm a big gamer myself. By the way, given your political views, you may like A People's History of the United States by Howard Zinn if you haven't read it. I've given you access to my journal, although I'll admit I'm slightly hesitant to subscribe to yours since I'll confess politics has been a somewhat-toxic subject for me in the past. I do hope we can have intelligent conversations here, though, if you're willing.

I’m not really a fan of Pokémon; it’s just not my thing. ;) I do, however, like Harry Potter. What about you? (I forgot to mention it in my post!) I’m a Hufflepuff, though, sometimes I identify more as a Ravenclaw. Do you have an HP house?

The Tudors are crazy, but I love them! A bit off topic, have you ever heard of the Blood Countess? Well...my sister did my ancestry and I’m related to her. O_O The woman bathed in blood thinking it would make her look younger. Crazy history...!

Cool! Is it legal to use? I’m m still learning how to play Sims3. I found my copy of the game sticking inside someone’s garbage along with an original Nintendo. Lucky me! Sadly, the NES wouldn’t work, but I didn’t have to pay $50 for the game! LOL

I’m on the cusp of Leo and Virgo, but my sister’s ex is an even odder combination, that of a Scorpio and Sagittarius mixture! I’ve never been a fan of Scorpios...or my ex brother-in-law. XD

Were you ever on LiveJournal when there was Hogwarts Elite? I was a member for years. They sorted me as Hufflepuff. I loved that; I even had a Hufflepuff scarf (I gave it to my fellow Hufflepuff niece). I still have the Ravenclaw one, though.

Yes! I hated Sims1. I got into Sims2 very late, and then, BAM! there's more Sims way above my price point. The base game for Sims3 was originally $50. D:

Just looking at the cases for the Sims4 games makes me think they're wonky. I think they should stop "improving" the game. Oh! Ever played Sims Castaway or Sim City? Or Sims Medieval? I've wanted that one for a while now. :P

Yeah the Sims 4 is a wonky game with wonkier players on YT. :P I love Sim City.. unfortunately I am not really good at Castaway or Medieval. LOL!!!

I have Sims Castaway for my Nintendo DS. I've won it before, but I ditched the game at some point, and my mom recently bought me another copy; she's been encouraging me to play video games! Now, that's different. :P

Do you like Studio Ghibli, by the way? Kiki's Delivery Service is my favorite one, but I do love the traditional settings in My Neighbor Totoro. Makes me want a tatami room and a futon.

Studio Ghibli is the animation studio that made My Neighbor Totoro. They’ve made a lot of great stuff. Spirited Away is so cool looking; the artwork is amazing. I like the details they give their movies.
