I'm a 19 year-old girl in California, a state currently in the process of burning itself down as if it wasn't hot enough here. I like: history, poetry, webcomics, reading, knitting, foreign languages. I love anyone who can recommend good books. I'll be using DW for musing and for writing original fic, especially during NaNoWriMo in November. I don't write that much fanfic, but I read a lot of it! Active fandoms: Young Wizards, Star Trek reboot, House MD, Discworld, Teen Titans, Harry Potter. More specific tastes re: music/poetry/books/movies are on my profile, which you should definitely peek at. :D

Several people posted saying that they were looking for a fresh start apart from LJ here on Dreamwidth; I happen to be looking for a fresh start on the Internet at large. ^^; Longtime friends on a forum I spent some time on began dropping off the face of the webz, and our little community dissolved. I got out of the blogging habit then since no friends were there to chat with. Recently I realized how much I miss it, so I wandered here.  I look forward to finding friends. :)

We have several things in common. ^^ I own the entire Teen Titans cartoon series, including the movie, and I absolutely love House. Also I am an avid writer and reader, both of fanfiction and original fiction.
