Long time user
Hello everyone. Just thought I would start updating this journal since my journal over on scribbld disappeared recently (not sure what happened to that website). I've had this account for years but have only just resorted to using it regularly recently. Luckily most of my stuff was backed up over onto this account, but I did sadly lose some entries :( Anyway, *waves* onto more about me personally:
NAME: Kirsten
AGE: 29
INTERESTS & HOBBIES: I could go on and on about this for ages, but my main hobbies are dancing, singing and collecting Tamagotchis (as well as other virtual pets, including Digimon). My interests include anime, crime dramas (especially BBC), sociology and anthropology (I have a BA from UCSB in both with a minor in philosophy), and I enjoy lots of different genres of music, anything from classic rock to Lady Gaga and Katy Perry. For a long time my favorite movies were Labyrinth, The Dark Crystal, and Legend. I really enjoy fantasy and science fiction and recently got back into drawing after quitting for about 16 years.
LOOKING FOR: I would prefer to add people who are open minded and don't mind the fact that I update about my romantic life a lot, as well as other daily dramas. I do update about happy things, too, but for me my journal is an outlet for any type of angst in my life. I'm an atheist, Marxist/Socialist and I used to be heavily into politics so I might update about that once in awhile too. I'm very accepting of people of all religions, political backgrounds, race, age, orientation, etc. Please expect that at some point I may make a post that offends you on some level because I'm extremely progressive/left leaning in my beliefs to the point that many would consider me a "radical" (I prefer the term "scientific socialism"). Overall, if you have different beliefs I'm willing to tolerate it because I understand why other people have different perspectives so I don't like to judge other people. The common thing I hear a lot from people is "X group of people are dumb/evil because blah blah blah". Well ignorant, maybe, but I honestly don't believe "stupidity" or "evil" actually exist because I'm not cynical and like to see the best in people. I think I possess a great capacity for empathy and I'm very perceptive in terms of seeing the underlying issues of why people behave the way they do, especially after I studied Child Development/Early Childhood Education and worked as a tutor for about 2 years. And especially after I studied the nature of human existence for many years in college :) All I ask is that people just don't start drama in my journal. Honest and mature discussions are always welcome, though :D
ANYTHING ELSE?: I once went to Anime Expo dressed as Bulma Bunny from Dragon Ball. This upcoming year I would like to get into good enough shape to where I can cosplay as Aeon Flux (original animation, not the live-action movie), but that's hard when you're addicted to any candy that has chocolate and peanutbutter ingredients. Also, if you're really into Tamagotchis I will add you just by virtue of that one thing :P
ALSO KNOWN AS: you can view that info on my profile page.

Also many other shared interests. (My undergrad was in psychology and sociology - and I loved what little exposure I got to anthropology and philosophy along the way.)
Feel free to add back, if you'd like.
Best,
