(no subject)

I am not very good with introductions and suck at self promotion! My name is Jay, I am a 28 year old Australian. I love writing, but I am not someone who will use deep descriptions and obscure adjectives. I write how I talk and I write how I see the world. I am currently writing a series of books. But that has been going on for 4 years now, so it's really a work in progress!

I was diagnosed as having Major Depressive Disorder when I was 18, although I was experiencing the symptoms and feelings for many years before - It hit its peak in 2003, when my mother passed away from lung cancer. I started medication and therapy a few years after and have been since. In 2012 I was diagnosed with Lupus, Fibromyalgia and Arthritis. I have the ABCD of medical bits and bobs! So some of my entries will be about the issues I'm having, how I am learning to cope, the changes I am making in life to deal with them.

I own a bakery and work there 5 days a week. I talk a lot about this - The good, the bad and the stupid customers!

My favourite TV show's are Supernatural, Pretty Little Liars, The Divide, Vikings, Justified, Castle, Murder, She Wrote... I have a few favourites! I'm not a big fangirl though, I can discuss TV shows, movies and music - But I don't really get as passionate about stuff like that, as other people. I am not really big on talking thoroughly about celeb gossip/news either.

I am PASSIONATE about child welfare and children's rights. I am an advocate for these rights and hope to help push the world forward into being one where child related crimes are NOT tolerated on any level! I talk a lot about cases I hear about, work I do with families who are effected by child abuse, neglect and murder.

I work with a Non-Profit Organization, that provides local community members goods and services to help their quality life. We provide food, homewares, children's and adults gift packs for birthdays, we do a Christmas toy drive each year. I LOVE working with this organization and I talk about that a lot.

Some more interests include:

* Art
* Poetry
* Quotes & Lyrics
* Trying new and different recipes
* Interior decorating
* Gardening
* Fitness & exercise

If any of this sounds like it would be up your alley. Either send me through a comment on here, or on my Friends Only post. Cheers!

Oooo!! Friend me!!

I'm in the process of writing the first draft of my third book (and trying to keep motivated with the third draft of my first book), and I'm working on turning them into the first part of a nine book series (having just recently gotten the idea of what I'm going to do with the next three, and who the main characters are going to be).

I had a bit of an affair with depression after my own mom passed away from ovarian cancer (right after my gram passed away from a stroke, and couple of years before a good friend of mine passed away unexpectedly). I feel like I'm really lucky that it wasn't something that stuck around in the way that it was then, and things have kind of gone back to normal.

I use this blog more as a fandom journal, doing reviews of tv show episodes, but sometimes I also talk about movies and books.

I am also passionate about child welfare/child rights. I'm also getting into gardening and am working on losing weight/being more active. I added you -- feel free to add me back if you'd like!

Cheers,
Al

It's the worst, and I don't ever want to have to do it again. Blech.

lol Yes, great writer. :D :D :D

I've set up the world that these books are in where there are people who have ... I guess you could say mutant powers. In the first book, Loki is trying to start Ragnarok cuz he's pissed off at Odin, but there are three sisters who are supposed to stop him from ending the world. The second one is the fallout from what happened in book one (where two of the three sisters died, and the one that survived has all kinds of survivor’s guilt and is a bit suicidal), they think that Baldur is going to become the new Big Bad (after he kills all of the Asgardians he can get his hands on), but the surviving sister, a friend she made in book two, and a minor character from book one and two end up blowing up the sun by mistake and destroying the solar system. The remaining sister and the friend pool their powers at the end of book two and jump to an alternate dimension, and book three is them in that alternate dimension, where Tesla and Edison have set up kind of a Nazi Germany type regime; where I am now, the two of them and some people they've met are organizing to try and fight Tesla, Edison, and the W.O.L.F. organization (which is doing experiments on people with powers).

For the next set of three, I'm planning on centering around a minor character from book three (after killing off the remaining sister), and having her (along with her coven ... though, I don't think I'm going to come right out and say she's Wiccan) fight this disease that only affects the gods from the various pantheons (since their deaths are playing havoc with the world).

Are you on IJ or LJ? I've posted sections up on my writing journals over there. If not, I can maybe start posting sections to my writing journal over here (instead of just using it as a place holder).

Also, Norse mythology is the greatest ever. No lie. It's my favorite.

I would be delighted to add you. I feel like we have a few things in common and you sound like someone I would definitely like to have on my list.

I am a bit heavy into anime fandoms, but that isn't all I discuss... :)
