Coconut Sheryl Coco and I'm very pleased to meet you! Obviously, I'm looking for some new faces to be friends with.
About me... hrm... well, I'm 28 years old, but I act like I'm still in my teens. Currently, I'm still trying to figure out where I fall on the LGBTQ spectrum. I live in the Pacific Northwest in the United States of America. My fancy with things in general tend to change with the moon, but my current favorite color is red and I have a thing for animal print on random objects. I live with mental illness (schizoaffective disorder, anxiety, and PTSD, specifically) and I tend to post about that
sometimes quite a bit, but I do my best to not have it overshadow everything else. I also post about my various interests, including fandom-type things, and my day-to-day doings... plus a dash of random thoughts and memes, pointless videos, etc. I guess you could say that my journal is eclectic and eccentric.
Regarding my mental illness, I have a confession that might throw some people off. I am on disability and currently reside in an assisted living facility, where I'm reevaluating my life and goals while learning to better take care of myself (and my mental illnesses, by extension) on my own. I attend a day treatment program 3-4 days a week as a tool to teach me more of those necessary skills. I'm also in an intensive therapy regime as my needs change over time. But enough with the heavy.
Fandom and interest-wise, I am into a great many things. I greatly enjoy anime and manga
(borderline obsessed), with Fullmetal Alchemist and Yuri!!! On ICE being in my list of favorites, and those are really the only two fandoms I consider myself "involved in". Currently, I'm working on watching Black Butler and Blue Exorcist and Attack on Titan. My attention-span is next to nothing, you see, so I often engage in multiple things at once and go back and forth. Anyway, I'm also very into reading and I've read all kinds of things, from Harry Potter to Divergent to Ender's Game to trashy romance novels. My favorite author of all time is Anne McCaffrey (RIP) and my favorite book is actually a self-help book (sorta) called You Can Heal Your Life by Louise Hay. I also adore the Anita Blake: Vampire Hunter series by Laurell K Hamilton, and the Hallows series by Kim Harrison. Going away from books and into film and television... I'm into crime shows like Law & Order: SVU and NCIS, but I also love Big Bang Theory. I'll watch Supernatural if it's on, but I don't actively seek out to watch the series from beginning to end, but maybe I will one day. Film-wise, I have the same policy as when it comes to books and television: I'll give anything a chance and I'll continue with it if I like it. (My favorite film of all time is The Crow. Same with video games. My favorite video game of all time is The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind, though I don't play that title as much as I do Skyrim these days. I have a thing for story-rich games, especially RPGs, and I suck at first-person shooters. Music... I lean towards symphonic metal (think Sonata Arctica and Nightwish), but I listen to practically everything, including country.
Outside of the standard interests and hobbies, I consider myself a coffee and tea enthusiast. I enjoy arts and crafts, such a scrapbooking, and I love food wayyy too much.
If I had to describe myself, I'd use the following sentence: I'm complicatedly simple and I change my mind a lot. That's me in a nutshell.
Thanks for reading and drop me a comment if you're interested in striking up a friendship! :D
